Married and playing together for nearly thirty years, Joanna and Rob bring a natural, telepathic chemistry to the stage. Specializing in classic jazz alongside originals and quirky arrangements, their live sets blend high-level musicianship with easygoing storytelling, creating a warm atmosphere that instantly connects with an audience.

Joanna
A dynamic Toronto-born multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and engaging storyteller, Joanna channels a lifetime of music into a warm, effortless presence that instantly connects with audiences. Her versatile performance career spans major festivals, intimate jazz clubs, and international stages in London, UK.

Joanna’s distinctive style was shaped through three years of intensive study at Humber College under Pat LaBarbera and Don Thompson, alongside a scholarship to the Banff Summer Jazz Workshop with Dave Liebman and Kenny Wheeler. This rich musical background brings a genuine depth to her live sets today.
Beyond the stage, Joanna is a master coach with 35 years of experience, including over two decades with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and 15 years on faculty at the Humber College Community Music School. Having learned to sing as an adult, she leads with an empathetic coaching philosophy rooted in the belief that everyone can find their voice.

Rob

A master of technique and nuance, pianist Rob holds a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance from the prestigious Eastman School of Music, where he studied under Bill Dobbins. This elite foundation launched a rich, versatile career.

As a highly sought-after composer, arranger, and collaborator, Rob is frequently hired by vocalists to write custom charts and provide the steady, intuitive piano accompaniment that allows singers to shine. His reputation for versatility also extends to the global dance community, where he serves as a resident pianist at Canada’s National Ballet School and has released approximately 20 albums of specialized ballet music utilized worldwide.
Rob is widely known throughout the industry for his kind, gentle nature and collaborative spirit. Whether anchoring a ensemble or collaborating in intimate settings, he remains an absolute joy to work with for clients and fellow musicians alike.
